Charlie McCarthy '63

Charlie has great memories of St. Ambrose. The most meaningful was meeting his wife, Joan, at Marycrest. At St. Ambrose he also realized his independence and learned how to interact with people of all backgrounds. He attributes his career success to what he learned both inside and outside the classroom. "St. Ambrose gave me the foundation to go into the business world," said Charlie.

When it came time for Charlie to cash in his required minimum distributions, he needed a place to deposit the funds. Charlie chose a charitable gift annuity, which allows him to support current St. Ambrose students while receiving a life income. "St. Ambrose seemed like a good place to put the money, and I liked the long-term advantages of a monthly income."
